A contemporary studio built on an ancient craft.

Jordanian Mosaic, Made for Today

Jordan is home to some of the world’s great mosaics. But for most people, mosaic is something seen on a day trip to Madaba: admired, photographed and left behind. Hind Mosaic was founded by artist Hind Al Hayari to change that. In a world full of mass-produced décor, we make things slowly and by hand: murals and panels designed for a particular wall, pieces made to be given and kept, and workshops where anyone can try the craft for themselves.

We work in natural Jordanian stone and marble, much of it reclaimed offcuts given a second life. The designs are contemporary; the technique is the one used on Jordan’s ancient floors.
